Atelier d’été de Needcompany sur la musicalité et le mouvement

Needcompany ouvre les portes du studio MILL pour un atelier, du 2 au 4 juillet 2025, destiné aux artistes professionnel•les et aux étudiants qui souhaitent explorer la musicalité et le mouvement.

This masterclass aims to provoke meaningful encounters with and between new generations of performing artists.

As part of the preparation for upcoming stage works, Needcompany invites participants to apply with a focus on hybrid performance: dancers exploring musicality, musicians exploring movement and everything in between.

By 6 June 2025, all applicants will be informed of the results of the selection. A maximum of 20 participants will be selected.

Good to know 

– No submission fee will be charged
– It is expected that participants will attend and be fully engaged for the entire three day workshop. – Workshop will be held in English
– Lunch will be provided
– On the last day of the workshop, Needcompany invites all participants for a drink to celebrate three intense days of sharing, working and exploring.

Workshop Schedule

Day 1 (10:00-17:00)
A general Needcompany masterclass exploring the interdisciplinary legacy of the international company in collaboration with Grace Ellen Barkey, Jan Lauwers and Maarten Seghers among others.

Days 2 – 3 (10:00-17:00)
A more music and dance specific workshop led by Sung Im Her and Maarten Seghers, anticipating their collaborative project which will premiere in 2026. These working sessions focus on performing musicality – equally carried by movement and sound – and aim to explore how to listen to movement and how to look at sound.
